Why can’t we just have a civil discussion about the fact that cops can slowly strangle black people to death with such impunity that they do it on camera, in full view of the public and don’t care that people are recording it? I think we can all agree that nobody wants to do anything drastic, like pass actual laws that threaten the police state we’ve built over the past 40 years.
And gosh darn it, when people start looting and rioting we can’t have any conversation at all. It’s off the table completely while we shoot people with rubber bullets and bombard them with flashbangs and tear-gas.
You know, in fact, we should call in the National Guard because Posse Comitatus doesn’t really apply here. The American military should totally be able to kill American citizens on American soil to protect Target stores.
So, I guess I’m saying I just don’t know why we can’t have a civil discussion.
