So last night I dreamed I was on the set of Saturday Night Live, and I was a guest on Weekend Update. They handed me some copy concerning Windows XP Service Pack 2 and how it sucked. I quickly rewrote the copy to say:
“This week Microsoft released it’s much anticipated XP service pack 2, which fixes numerous security issues and provides a great deal of bug fixes. Unfortunately, it breaks everything else.”
I was thinking while I was doing it, that this was pretty geeky stuff for SNL. I was a little nervous about going on the air live, but I was stoked to be there doing a comedy bit.
When I woke up, I chuckled at my geekyness and thought, that’s not how I would have written it in real life. It probably would have been more like this.
“This week Microsoft released it’s much anticipated XP service pack 2, which fixes numerous security issues and provides a great deal of bug fixes. Unfortunately, it also broke the seventh seal and has ushered in the apocalypse. Microsoft spokespeople have cited the impending end of time and existence as a feature, not a bug.”
