I’ve been thinking a lot the last couple of months about starting martial arts training again. I spent 2 years pretty heavily in Tae Kwon Do, and about 6 months in Genbukan Ninpo. While looking around today for Steven Hayes info (First american to train in ninjutsu and bring it back to America), I found out there is a dojo here in town for his To-Shin Do style. To-Shin Do is roughly considered Ninjitsu updated for today’s world.
I spoke with one of the instructors, Lori, tonight about training, and I’m going to check it out on Monday. Lori seemed nice over the phone. Her husband and her run the dojo and are both ni-dans (2nd degree black belts). My Tae Kwon Do instructor was an 8th degree and my Genbukan instructor was a 4th degree. You could definitely tell the difference in instruction.
I’ll let you know how things go.
