Surprises

After changes to the adsense setup, TechGoesBoom broke $1.50 a day in ad revenue for the first time ever. Yep, that’s the kind of money we’re talking about here. You don’t know how delighted I would be if it consistently returned that.

It should be noted that all ad activity is coming from pages in the archive, and essentially nothing from the home page.

Conversely, learningphoto has done nothing since the ad changes, i.e. it’s fallen. Not cool. I’m going to give it a week before making changes again.

Setting up channels has provided a lot of information which is fantastic, but really emphasizes the lack of information google provides on your ad performance.

Started working on a series of desktops that I’ll probably sell as a package for like $5. Something like 20-40 images sized for 30in monitors and below. Each image probably takes about an hour to prepare given cropping and sharpening for about 6 different image sizes.

The powerbook is not standing up well to Photoshop CS2’s smart sharpen feature. On my standard size images, it takes probably 1-2 minutes to sharpen. Ouch. The Dual 2ghz G5 does the same image in maybe 10 seconds. Can’t wait for those intel powerbooks.
