On a lark, and knowing that 10.3 had pretty good USB 2 support, I decided to pick up an el-cheapo usb 2 controller while at Fry’s the other day despite it not having mac drivers. I popped it in tonight, fired up the machine, and it works like a champ. The card is a PPA Inc 5 port. It uses the ali chipset and cost $8.99. If you need usb 2 on your mac, and are running 10.3, this is the way to fly. FYI, it was on sale, but is normally $15. Still a good buy.
