If you own a camera that shoots RAW, you owe it to yourself to try out Iridient Digital’s RAW Developer. While I prefer lightroom for photo management, and other RAW processing features, neither it or Photoshop can compare to RAW Developer in detail extracted from Raw Files.
Here is an example. Lightroom on [...]
For those not aware, I posted a few new pics to Flickr.
Check them out at your leisure.
I’ve been sorely tempted to buy a refurbished HP Z3100 lately which would allow me to print some awesomely huge pictures. But I’m fighting it.
I cannot hand hold at 1/50th in the wind. At least not at 70mm. I should really just stop trying. Landscapes don’t look good with shallow depth of field. Just use the tripod. Get a lighter one to hike around. The glossy screen on a Macbook sucks for reviewing pictures. Macbook Pro [...]
New Show!
This Saturday I will be showing 2 photos in downtown Tempe. One is a great shot of leaves from Red Tank Draw that you have probably seen before, but I haven’t shown at this show, the other is a new photo from the Painted Desert up in Northern AZ that I haven’t shown before.
I’ve [...]
Last night I decided it was time to update the blog to the newest, shiniest version of Wordpress. I thought that I would update the squibble theme at the same time. Turns out, squibble wasn’t really doing it for me anymore. So it was time to switch.
We now have the shiny Minim [...]

Took this yesterday evening at the golf course near my crib.
I’ve been reading a lot of doom and gloom about how photographers’ livelihoods are in great peril because of microstock agencies like iStockphoto and the recent announcement of a completely free stock photo website. There is much wailing and gnashing of teeth. “Photography is being cheapened” “No one cares about quality photography” [...]
Last weekend was a busy one, but a good one. Here’s the report:
Friday night I had my graduation to Brown/Black belt, which means if everything goes according to plan, I should have my Black Belt in 3 short months. Whee! I also dropped off the prints with Geoff for the show on [...]
Last Friday I presented a lot of the work I’ve been doing over the last 3 months or so to my company’s president and executive leadership. Story short: it went well, they agreed with the bulk of the work, but want to prioritize some other work within the project over some immediate recommendations we [...]
Well I threw down and purchased a license for Adobe Lightroom. I’ve been using it since the first beta for RAW processing, and since the full release, I started using it for its library management as well. I’m not one to give a lot of gushing praise about software, but this is seriously [...]
