Watching the History channel show just drove me over the edge. They had folks on advocating that not only had we been visited, but visited multiple times, by multiple alien races. They had no one on pointing out how infeasible this is.

They all wave their hands and say, “well they’ll be so advanced that they’ll have some magical grasp of physics that’s so far beyond our own they they can travel faster than light with little power”, which is to me the equivalent of saying Jesus can do stuff cause he’s magic.

So I just looked up the hard numbers of things I already had roughly approximated in my head. Although in writing this, I got a much better sense of how space and time are related. It’s weird to think that we’re essentially always looking backwards in time, and the farther out we look, the further back we’re looking.
