Okay, I found what I was looking for with Wordpress. Once I did some digging, I am very impressed with what Wordpress can do. I will be doing the new project in Wordpress, and if I’m feeling fiesty, may move this blog over to it as well. I’m kind of excited.

I looked at Wordpress a while back. Decided that is what I will be giving people when they require a blog. It needs a lot of work on the backend with the users/groups/sessioning system though. But most people don’t care about that.
I’ll be intersted to see what tricks you can make Wordpress do.
Yeah there is a lot of yammering in the community about the lack of real multiblog management (doable but requires a little work). Managing users and groups across blogs is not something that MT currently does as far as I can tell, and it’s not a big need for me.
I can see needing it on modzer0. But it shouldn’t be terribly difficult to just plug in whatever authentication and group management you’re already using. Thankfully Wordpress is really modular and it shouldn’t be too much of a headache getting it working.
The community is already jumping all over WP, and a LOT of hacks and plugins have already been released. Give it month or so and I’ll bet we’ll be seeing some pretty major changes.
